‘I Do’ - Survey Finds That 25% Of Bride and Grooms Organise Their Own Stag and Hen Parties
Stag and hen parties have long held mythological status among those going on them. Brides- and grooms-to-be get nervous about what fate awaits them. However, according to a new research, these preconceptions are largely wrong, or at least they are on the wane.
The survey of over 2,000 respondents found that almost 90% of all UK stag and hen-do-goers regret nothing that happened on the stag do and would happily tell their partners everything that went on.
A key reason behind this decrease in the “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” mentality may be due to the stag and hen having a more pivotal role in planning the event, with almost one quarter organising it themselves, and 88% of stag and hens knowing something about their do.
The traditional idea of a stag and hen do, with copious amounts of alcohol and themed outfits are also on the wane, with almost one third of all parties focusing on activities like paint balling or spa weekends rather than a boozy weekend. The trend of having a costume themed night out or group personalised t-shirt, to alert everyone to the presence of a stag/hen do on the night out is also declining, with only 30% of respondents conforming to this once staple practise.
The research, performed by t-shirt printing company BuyTshirtsOnline, also found that the traditional gender divide on stag and hen do’s is reducing, with 8% of stag do’s having females along and 15% of hen do’s having a male other than the stripper invited.
