AFTER a spike in coronavirus infections nationally, the government has reversed its decision to allow wedding receptions of up to 30 people to go ahead from 1 August.

At the end of June, the Prime Minister announced that the strict restrictions on wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions were set to ease, allowing up to 30 people – including the couple, guests and suppliers not employed by the venue (such as the photographer) – to attend a wedding reception in England, as long as they complied with social distancing rules.

To celebrate its 1,000th wedding, Balmer Lawn Hotel & Spa, a 4-star New Forest wedding venue, launched the nationwide competition to give away a free winter wedding to one lucky couple.
 
Having whittled down dozens of hopeful entries into a top 10, the hotel presented them to the public – allowing them to determine the worthiest winner once they’d had a chance to read the individual stories of the finalists.

A national antique silverware outlet is asking members of the public for help in finding the rightful owner of an engagement ring discovered by a local couple on a park bench in Newcastle. The ring was found alongside a mystery note, which simply read ‘I’m sorry’, on Sunday 7th April.

 

A national antique silverware and jewellery outlet is appealing for members of the public to help find the owner of a suspected engagement ring and note found on a bench in Leazes Park, Newcastle.

 

AC Silver received the ring and note from a local couple, who said they found the items whilst out on a walk near their home on Sunday 7th April.
