As wedding season is well and truly underway, The Majestic Hotel’s wedding coordinator Alicja Kulinska has shared some insider tips for couples looking to tie the knot without breaking the bank.
Alicja said: “Weddings come in all shapes and sizes depending on the budget which couples are working towards. However with careful planning, savvy thinking and an innovative wedding coordinator, there’s no need to have to compromise on arrangements for the special day.
“One of my favourite money-saving swaps involves the wedding confection, which is often a central part of the reception as wedding cakes act as a centrepiece and talking point for guests. Whether one tier, the traditional three or more if desired, the cake can take a large bite out of the overall budget, but it is possible to have something beautiful without spending too much.
“Why not ditch the traditional wedding cake for a personalised option, as there are lots of alternatives available. If couples are prepared to make a statement, they could opt for a cupcake or macaron tower, ‘pie pop’ display or doughnut stand, which can double up as quirky wedding favours for guests to take away – saving even more money. Personalised bags to pop the sweet treats in can easily be purchased online without a huge price tag.
“For more tips on how to get the most out of that all-important budget, couples should speak to their dedicated wedding coordinator who will likely have plenty of ideas, covering everything from alternative ways to decorate the ceremony room, to dressing the wedding breakfast tables without overspending.”
Alicja is based at The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate, which is one of 10 signature properties from The Cairn Collection. Set amidst acres of picture-perfect landscaped gardens, wedding guests will be impressed from the moment they arrive, and the interior is just as spectacular. Ceremonies for up to 300 guests can be accommodated, with a selection of function spaces for more intimate occasions also available, including a pretty open-air terrace for outdoor celebrations.
