Hotel du Vin has officially opened the doors of its newest boutique hotel in the historic Stratford-upon-Avon. Carefully converted from two Grade II-listed Georgian townhouses, with exquisite private rooms, gorgeous suites and heavenly dining, it is an ideal venue for a wedding, engagement party or mini-moon.
The hotel - which was originally built in 1798 and transformed from the site of the old Registry Office - has three wedding spaces, each offering the perfect opportunity to create a unique experience. The smallest two – beautiful rooms situated in the original townhouse that seat up to 12 people – are ideal for a private, intimate wedding breakfast. The largest room, Charneco – named after a wine referenced in Shakespeare’s King Henry VI – can host up to 50 people. It leads directly onto the landscaped courtyard; a pretty, tranquil setting for canapes, drinks receptions and photo opportunities.
Located in the heart of the historic Shakespearean town, the new Hotel du Vin is also perfectly situated just a short walk from the town’s current Registry Office on Henley Street as well as being just a few minutes’ drive from the river, for the perfect picture backdrop.
With 46 stunning bedrooms and suites, guests who need – or want – to stay the night will be able to wind down in luxury. The hotel aesthetic is a contemporary development of the traditional Hotel du Vin style, think dark greys, teals and greens, with colourful accents, stylish furniture and quirky artwork. Luxurious roll top baths, large comfy beds and the finest Egyptian cotton come as standard.
Next, the food. From mouth-watering canapés, wedding breakfasts and informal buffets to special afternoon teas, BBQ’s and five-course candle lit dinners, the hotel’s chefs will work with the couple to find a menu that suits them. Every mouthful is prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and the hotel’s knowledgeable, in-house sommelier will be on hand to help find the perfect wine to match.
There are a number of thoughtfully designed wedding packages on offer, all of which include a complimentary menu tasting for two, a dedicated wedding co-ordinator, decoration services and much more.
