So you have your wedding venue sorted, and the plans are under way for the big day, and now comes huge decision on the honeymoon and getting it right can be crucial. You want a holiday to really remember for the rest of your life.

Your honeymoon is the one true holiday of your lifetime where you can really have a trip of a lifetime. They did a recent article on the top 10 destinations to visit on your honeymoon which inspired this article.
The Most Romantic Destinations
Venice, Italy
This isn’t just one town, it’s actually just 118 small islands all connected by canals and is unusual in the fact it has no roads. Where your sat by the canals enjoying a lovely meal or taking a gondola ride with your special other half, Venice really is a romantic honeymoon destination.
The best things to do in Venice is not to have a plan at all, but just to head out an explore the city, down little side streets you will find amazing cafes serving some amazing food, or old historical buildings.
Paris
Also known as the “city of Love”, it’s quite easy to see why this is one of the most romantic destinations to visit. Whether you are taking a horse drawn cart around the city, going up the Eiffel tower or just enjoying the French cuisine - Paris is truly a romantic hotspot.
Whether you head up the Eiffel toward or just sit around on the lawns surrounding the tower, it’s one of the most romantic places in the world.
Bora Bora
While the first two have been wonderful cities to visit Bora Bora is a paradise in the French Polynesia. Crystal clear waters and palm beaches await you when you land. There is so much to see and do – its paradise abroad. Whether you are after a honeymoon on the beach, hiking up some mountain, scuba diving or relaxing massages this island has it all.
The Most Expensive
We are not saying you should just book somewhere because it’s the most expensive, but some of the world’s most amazing honeymoon destinations comes with a nice price tag and we wanted to included them here.
The Maldives
Probably one of the worlds most popular honeymoon destinations it’s easy to see why. With a wide range of stunning islands to pick from and a wide choice of accommodation types this is an idyllic place to spend a week or more with that special someone. Waking up over clear blue waters and dipping into the sea for a quick swim before breakfast – what more can you ask for.
Whether you chose a 5 star hotel, a bungalow by the sea or even a hut over the water we are sure you will have an amazing time.

The British Virgin Island
Nope these Islands aren’t owned by Richard Branson, but he does own one of them. These are a group of Islands part of the British Overseas territory in the Caribbean. There is a long running honeymoon joke about these islands. The joke is that the island contains some of the best things in life – British. Virgin. Islands. The islands themselves are stunning places to visit, golden white beaches, palm tree lined boulevards as well as great weather all year round.
Seychelles
Like we said, the most expensive honeymoon destinations come with a price tag for a reason, because they are stunning and have an aura about them that just makes you go wow .
The Seychelles is no different. As well as stunning beaches and clear blue waters you might spot a celebrity or two. Its often the destination of choice for A list celebs including George Clooney in 2014 and British Royalty, when Kate and William visited here in 2011 after their wedding.
Most Unusual Honeymoon Destinations
Some people just don’t like to visit the same places as everyone else and want someone unique and different. Then these destinations would be for you.
Lapland – Finland
The best time of year to visit is between November and March, so ideal if you have a winter wedding.
The main thing about going this time of year is you get the magic of Christmas as well.
Want to see something truly magic, then sit outside on an evening and watch the sky dance. The northern lights are truly an amazing sight and a must see.
Dubrovnik Croatia
This place only a few years ago was a true secret, but it has got out. The city is full or rich heritage and cultures for you to spend the days exploring and the evening enjoy some wonderfully cooked local food. This is a great destination to visit between April and October as this is when you get the best weather.
Least Expensive
So far I have covered, the most expensive, most unusual and romantic but some people just don’t have the budget to visit these places and want somewhere a little bit cheaper.
You can still have the same romantic experience just on a budget.
Tatai – Cambodia
This country sits alongside Thailand and Indonesia as one of the choice destination in Southern eastern countries for honeymoons and this one is the cheapest. The fantastic experiences, hotels and things to see as well as budget friendly prices make this an ideal honeymoon for budget conscious couples.
Selva Negra – Nicaragua
Who said you couldn’t have blue seas and golden sands on a budget, well Selva Negra says you can. You can find stunning beach side bungalows offering sea views and hotels from as little as $100 a night.
As you can see there are plenty of places to visit on your honeymoon, the key is finding the perfect place for you and your partner.
