Wedding bales at Careys Manor

Hay bales sitting on faded Persian rugs. An acoustic band playing under a canopy of rustling forest leaves. Twinkling lights strung between white Bell tents. Rustic woodland weddings have a charm of their own – and now Careys Manor Hotel is introducing a new Wedding Bales package for the perfect field wedding in the New Forest.

According to a 2017 survey by online wedding site Confetti, woodland and rustic weddings are one of this year’s top trends. Celebrating the beauty of nature, the charm of a woodland wedding is its informality, and the Wedding Bales package offers a peaceful rural setting with the same level of first class service you will find in the hotel itself.

Hay bale sofas and rustic benches will be set up around a marquee on a private field next to the hotel, where guests can enjoy ice creams from an old-fashioned bicycle, and capture memories of the special occasion in a rustic photo booth.

The bride and groom can choose from a selection of delicious wedding breakfasts, including whole roast lamb shoulder with tzatziki, hummus, salsa and salads, a hog roast with dips and salads, roast spatchcock chicken with lemon, garlic and rosemary, and a slow-cooked whole pork shoulder.

Careys Manor’s wedding coordinator Francoise Gysemans has more than 17 years’ experience, and with her industry experience comes a passion for new ideas. She believes this exciting new venture will provide an enviable and intimate setting away from hotel guests and the public and is keen to show off all the benefits of the Wedding Bales package at a Wedding Open Day at Careys Manor on September 2.
