Nestled within the Yorkshire Wolds, Jollydays Glamping and the North Star Club are unique and exciting locations to host a wedding or party. Either for a festival vibe, a “proper posh” tea party or a romantic Kate moss style extravaganza, the magical woodlands are the perfect venue. Hire either the 200acre woodland at Jollydays or the 500acre woodland at North Star Club and in addition have somewhere quirky for guests to stay.
North Star Club is perfect for smaller more intimate affairs, sleeping up to 30 people in ruggedly cosy Woodland Suites, whilst Jollydays can hold up to 117 people in spacious tented accommodation with proper beds! Both sites have a welcoming communal indoor space; at North Star Club chill out in the tranquil, aptly named - Woodshed or at Jollydays sip tea from vintage cups in the rustic Tea Tent. In addition both have an outdoor campfire area, a place to talk, laugh and reflect with friends and family.
Glamping Weddings tend to take place over a whole weekend allowing for a much more relaxed and unique experience. Guests typically arrive on a Friday evening and are welcomed with an informal supper in the woods. A local Fish and Chip van is on call or a mobile wood fired pizza oven can dish up gourmet pizzas to enjoy around the campfire.
This creates a wonderful sense of camaraderie and helps build up excitement for the Big Day.
Ceremonies at Jollydays take place in a clearing in the woods, a draped tented structure offers protection and couples can create a humanist ceremony of their choice. This allows for a real connection with nature - guests sit on tree trunk “pews” and it’s an opportunity to indulge in some stylish rustic decorating - timber signs, bunting and fairy lights create a truly magical atmosphere, all suited to the couples taste.
Every wedding is distinct and past themes have included Alice in Wonderland, Twilight and even a Sean Parker style (one half of the creators of Facebook) Lord of the Rings extravaganza.
The day can be customized around the couple and we have everything from an informal hog roast in a tipi to super swanky fine dining served up in a stunningly glamorous marquee. Guests usually leave on a Sunday morning - with a warm glow and a hearty breakfast inside them.
Weddings at Jollydays tend to take place in the summer when the Woodland is stunningly beautiful however the North Star Club offers an all year round opportunity. Winter weddings are increasingly popular and here you can indulge in mulled wine served by candlelight amongst the reindeer skins and cosy tweed throws! The woodland looks absolutely magnificent when its draped in fairy lights and candle lanterns – creating a truly magical experience for the wedding party.
The camps are also wonderful places for team building ventures, for corporate away days or Hen and Stag parties with a wide range of activities available both off and on site. Both sites are located within easy reach of York and the East Coast perfect for a spot of shopping, a bite to eat or a night out.
