Your wedding dress shape
A-Line
If the thought of wedding dress shopping is a little overwhelming as you’ve no idea where to start, an A-Line wedding dress is an excellent style to start with. The dress gradually flows into an ‘A’ shape as the design begins hugging your narrowest point. The balanced proportions work to draw the eyes upwards, drawing attention to your head and chest.

Ball Gown
This classic fairy-tale wedding dress is also known as a ‘Princess Gown’. Beginning with a fitted bodice, the skirt then flares out from the waist with plenty of volume. To look even more like a princess, opt for a hooped underskirt.

Fit & Flare
Accentuating the waist, a fit and flare wedding dress hugs the body and flares out slightly below the hips. Without restricting movement, the fit and flare wedding dress gives a flattering and curvaceous silhouette that disguises any unwanted bumps.
A fit and flare isn’t to be confused with a fishtail, mermaid or trumpet wedding dress, which generally flares a little lower.

Fishtail, Mermaid & Trumpet
These styles of dresses are perfect for anyone seeking that dreamy hourglass silhouette. Trumpet shapes are the perfect in between of a fit and flare and a mermaid dress. The shape resembles a trumpet’s bell as the skirt gradually flares around the mid-thigh.
Fishtail and mermaid dresses are closely fitting to the knee before flaring dramatically outwards - the shape closely resembles a fish’s tail, hence the name. They’re perfect for any bride seeking the wow-factor due to its sexy silhouette.

Sheath/Column
Often made from delicate fabrics, the sheath or column wedding dress creates an understated silhouette. The narrow shape flows gently downwards from the neckline to the hem. It is a figure-flattering style of wedding dress for petite brides.

Short
Shorter wedding dresses are perfect for fun, flirty and fabulous brides. They have cropped hemlines to show off luscious legs and are often nipped at the waist to create stunning curves.
